The merger will lead to the configuration of a Litigation Department comprising more than 20 lawyers. The new Litigation Department will include a number of seven sub-groups of specialized areas of practice, including Commercial Litigation, Public Authorities Procedures, Property Litigation, Labor Litigation, Fiscal/Tax Litigation, Intellectual Property & Copyright Law, International Arbitration.
Representatives from with Popovici Nitu & Asociatii and Danescu & Asociatii have announced the merger of the two law firms, effective starting 1st of April 2010.
The merger will lead to the configuration of a Litigation Department comprising more than 20 lawyers. The new Litigation Department will include a number of seven sub-groups of specialized areas of practice, including Commercial Litigation, Public Authorities Procedures, Property Litigation, Labor Litigation, Fiscal/Tax Litigation, Intellectual Property & Copyright Law, International Arbitration.
Corin Danescu will become senior partner of Popovici Nitu & Asociatii and will coordinate, together with Ciprian Dontu, the firm’s Litigation Department.
Founding partner of Danescu & Asociatii, Corin Danescu has an impressive and hard to match litigation lawyer experience and reputation. Coming from a family with a well established barrister tradition of over 100 years (both his father and grandparent were successful barristers), Corin Danescu has attached his name to some of the first, most important cases related to property restitutions, as well as famous commercial cases in diverse sectors such as insurance, shipping and enterprise construction.
Corin Danescu attended the University of Bucharest and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1983, and also studied at the National School of Public Administration (Paris, 1990). He is a qualified lawyer since 1985. Starting with year 2007, he is a member of the Council of the Bucharest Bar Association and starting the year 2008, a member of the Permanent Committee of the National Association of the Romanian Bars (UNBR). Corin Danescu is also a member of the National Institute for the Sustained Professional Development of Lawyers (INPPA).

As a result of the merger, Popovici Nitu & Asociatii will gather over 70 lawyers, including 10 partners.
Popovici Nitu & Asociatii has constantly grown over the past years, collecting over seven million euros in revenues in 2009. For 2010, the company estimates an operational 10-15% increase.

He has been practicing law for over 25 years:
· 1983 – 1989, lawyer in the College of Lawyers of the Bucharest Municipality
· 1990 – 1995, lawyer in the Bucharest Bar Association

- Assistance and representation given to Maersk Romania - a member company of AP Moller/Maersk Group, the global leader in container shipping, as well as assistance and representation to APM Terminals Constanta
- Assistance and representation given to Ringier Group in relation to their investment and acquisition projects in Romania;
- Assistance in relation to various legislative projects, including the State Aid Law project.
